Pine Tree Sap

Hey, I had to park near a pine tree the other day and some sap got on the G. What products do you use to get it off?? I called AutoZone and they said bug a tar remover or some stuff called Wipe Away. What do ya think. I won't be parking under any pine trees again.

Acetone based nail polish remover. You just put some on, wait a few seconds for it to work and wipe away. Make sure you clean and wax after!

This happned to me toooooooooooo......

If you had a good wax base on your car the sap
would just wash off. I would wash, clay, clean and
wax your car to remove the sap and eliminate any
problems in the future.

I used a product called Bug and Tar Remover (I think most makes will work fine) and it worked great. Just wash and re-wax that area of your car after using it.

Thanks guys. I was also wanting to clean this area so that I can wax the car. I am checking out some of the Zaino Products now. Now I need to clean, clay, and wax the car.

If the sap has not yet solidified, you can put some Rainx on it and just wipe it off. The rainx will dissolve it pretty quickly.

i live in an apartment complex and i have to park under a tree pretty often and now i have soooo many ugly tree sap stains on my Ivory Pearl G35...i've tried to just wash them off, but they won't...

i was thinking about using clay bar, but i heard that you shouldn't use clay on a new car. i have an 06 and it is covered in small orange dots. what to do...what to do...

btw, i live in the atlanta metro area, and i was wondering if anyone knew of a place that would detail my car very well. wash, clay, wax, the whole nine yards.

Atlanta metro huh, just leave the car out, someone will steal it and you can use the write-off to buy one you don't park under trees!

I had the same problem with my Pearl 2006 G35c/auto - I did use my friends clay bar and with couple hard scrubs with the clay, the orange dots that i had all over my roof and on the rear trunk area was taken out. I didnt' notice any other problems and i don't see how it can damage the paint on our new cars.
