Microscratching my paint?
I detailed my car and did not have time to finish. I drove 30 miles after doing a coat of Z2, Z5 and Z2....I still have some swirls I want to work out. Would I be safe wiping the car lightly with a new terry towel to remove the dust that kicked up when driving or will this cuase more swirls or microscratches?
i always find a self spray carwash or at least a garder hose before putting a towel on the paint to wipe it down. the dust will build up in the towel and put scratches in the paint if you do not rinse it off first.

i think he just wants to finish the wax process. he has stopped in the middle and driven the car around. now there is dust on it and he wants to know if it is safe to continue the zaino process or should the car be rinsed off first. is this correct?
i dunno, maybe he should clarify, he said he wants to work some of the swirls out which to me means polish, which doesn't include either z2/z5

Dust and pollen tend to be rather abrasive, depending on the level of dust, you should be safe with a Z6 wipe down. You should flip the towel often and on a sedan, use 2-3 standard size microfiber towels.
I have a cali car duster for my company car that tends to marr the paint just a hair even when I just "tickle" the paint. It's a nice tool and with a lighter color would be fine.
