Exclamation calling all porter cable pros,. need help choosing pads & good polish, MASSIVE SWIRLS

hey guys,

i just got my pc7424
i got it with:

-velcro Backing Plate,

-White foam pad with screw (dont know why its there i have a velcro backing plate, how do i use this),

-Yellow Pad,
-Green Pad
-black pad
-Wolfgang concours-series lambswool Knittted Polishing Pad #77-216
-8 microfiber bonnets

I have no clue what pad does what lol please help me out !!!

the reason i bought this pc is because inifniti repainted my rear bumper because they damged it when i got the car.
my car is obsidian black and the repainted panel looks horrible, its filled with swirl marks, holograms and buff marks.
i dont trust anyone with my car and i really want to learn to use my pc but have no clue where to start.

if anyone can please explain to me what pad does what id really appreciate it, also if i need new ones let me know what kind

i also need a good polish system to rid the swirl, buff and hologram marks, ...any suggestions?

i have some Optimum polish that i got a while ago, is this a good polish to use, can i damge my paint?

thanks for your help guys!!!

don't use the foam pad the comes with the PC on your paint, and get rid of the lambswool pad, its not meant for a PC. Not familiar with wolfgang's pad colors, but since you have optimum polish already, start with that using a medium cutting pad and see if it gets you the correction need. If not you need to pick up a stronger abrasive, such as optimum compound, and use that starting with a light cutting pad, then move up to the medium pad if it still doesn't provide the cut you need. Finish with a finishing pad using optimum polish, and top with any sealant/wax you'd like

i ahve both the compound and the polish from optimum.

my foam pads are not wolfgang, they are by a company called speedy foam.

i have a velcro backing plate, so where can i buy the proper pads, and what do my current pads do lol

Hard to get a kit that has everything. I got clay magic clay bar, the PC, Edge 2000 pads, Menzerna 106FF and Menzerna FMJ. You may chose something different. Everyone has different preferences.
