Ask a Professional Detailer...
I had a mobile detailer come out and detail my car and after looking at pictures of detailers on this board, he had no idea what he was doing.
I have a ton of this stuff going on (not my car, taken from detaildan thread)

and the detailer told me that its from factory and it could never be removed. Okay, then when I went out to see the finished results, he had all this white wax stuck in rockchip spots on my hood. My car looks worse than it did before on hood, but other spots look cleaner. I only paid him 75bux so I guess I just got a really bad deal on wash. He did use the rotary on it.

Hmm...I can't get this to work at all. I put some of the m105 compound on the orange pad after claying the bumper and tried to get out some imperfections and really don't see almost any difference at all. It's pretty dissappointing. I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong--I tried to apply a lot of pressure and it still didn't help much. Any advice? I wish I had friends that have done this before and could help in person haha.
those are minor swirls that are easily removable .He sure didnt know what he was doing . You wont find anyone that does know what they are doing for 75 though . What did he use the rotary to apply wax cuz he surly didnt do any polishing . If your looking for anything decent you will have to pay 250 and up for sure . Wax wont do anything unless the car is properly polished and prepped .
Let us know if you get them fixed.
Do you recommend any wheel waxes? I'm currently using a small solution of ONR and it seems to do a pretty good job. If I'm washing the car every 1-2 weeks, will a wheel wax protect the wheels that long or is just hype?

Ok heres my situation, my 03 sedan has 140K+ miles and most of those are freeway. I have dings, dents, and scrapes all around im thinking it would be best to get all the body work done and then painted all at once......However, im still gonna be on the freeway so do you think its a bad idea.....or is there a way to maintain the car new paint by consistent washing buffing ect? i really want to get my car looking nice again and want to know what needs to be done to keep it looking fresh even though i do a lot of fast driving.....once again THANKS

Ive been asking myself, what is the proper way to clean my aftermarket wheels? i'm running vs-xx with polished lips, i'm pretty scard to scratch my lips. What products/methode should i use to wash them and get them shinning like brend new?
I have an infiniti g35 sedan that I absolutely love. My wife went shopping in it the other day and forgot to get out one very important thing... A POUND OF HAMBURGER!!! It was in the plastic tube and it sat in the 100 degree heat for almost 2 full days. When I opened my trunk on monday morning the smell almost knocked me down along with the flies. it had gotten so hot that the pack had split open and it was all over the liner in my trunk. I immediately took the car and had the trunk shampooed but the smell only decreased by about 50-60%. I now have both liners out of the trunk and poured baking soda all over them both and let them sit for a few hours before vacuuming. They are now in my garage but the inside of the car still smells horrible. I've sprayed lots of febreeze auto and left the windows and trunk open all night but it still not better. What can I do to get rid of this awful smell?

It's really up to you if you want to go through the body work. You can certainly transform your paint without taking care of the dings, dents and scrapes and get a lot more depth and gloss out of it. If you decide to get the work done, then you'll want to wait for the fresh paint to properly cure prior to going through the detailing steps otherwise you can run into some paint problems along the way. Your going to run into rock chips and normal wear and tear regardless, that's just part of driving your car, whether or not you want it to have a deep wet gloss is independent of that and up to you if you want to take the time to learn the proper detailing steps and techniques. A great starting point for you would be to read through our auto detailing guide and our Ask-a-Pro blog best of's.

That'd be one of the easier solutions without the need for a professional if it works.
Hey Guys. I need a recomendation on a wheel cleaner to help remove water spots from a set of chrome wheels. Spots not all that bad but you can still see them. Point me in the right direction. Thanks again. Mike.
Hope that helps, keep us posted on how it turns out.
