they have some Pump type unit that, has a thin hose that goes into the dipstick tube to suck out the old oil..

Thats what they do for boat engines...

but, to change the filter ,you have to unbolt the splash shield under engine..
meaning , you have to get under the car ,somehow?? Rack?/or jack?

i use a Rhino ramps and made my own extensions out of wood.
you have to raise it to get to the filter cause you need to remove
the bottom cover.

dont go under there with just your factory jack. those things can
fail at any second if you move the car even alittle bit.

I made a DIY ramp with some wood I had laying around. Just made one for the right side of the vehicle.

Probably the easiest would be the Fumoto Valve and a remote mount oil filter kit. That way, just reach uner the car, flip the switch to drain the oil, and change the filter from inside your engine bay!

Why are you guys suggesting all these valves and remote install filters just to change your freakin oil? All you need is a socket wrench, floor jack (stock jack will do), jack stand, & oil pan. Draining the oil should be a no brainer. For the under body cover, I remove the two screws holding down the corners and I'm able to reach in there and undo the oil filter by hand most of the time.

I agree. We are talking about changing engine oil. I see no good reason to get carried away with mods for this basic maintenance item. Valves, remote filter locations...save the money and buy a set of stands. They are handy for many other purposes as well.

Installing one is a great investment if you are into doing your own oil changes.
