Re: Tint Window~

I was telling another owner that I think tint is tint, the quality is so high across all brands that it may not matter which you get. The installation probably makes the biggest difference. So the question is where, not necessarily what....

Re: Tint Window~

It is very true that tint is tint, but quality does vary. Very often, I'd get customers coming to me to remove film that bubbled and faded to a dark purple after several years of usage. I'm not going to name which type of tint that does this, but some tint carries red dye on them and does not react well w/ sunlight. Over a period of time in the sun, the UV rays will begin distorting the film's chemical surface and cause the film to turn color and begin to bubble.

But of course, a trained professional could make even a lower quality tint look great!

I've tinted dozens of G35s and also own two, which are both tinted w/ Madico Onyx Series Film all around.........including the front windshield. Just swing by and take a look at my cars to get an idea of what type of work I do.

Re: Tint Window~

Although you won't say which tint sucks, can you at least say which tint you would recommend? Thanks

Re: Tint Window~

Well, I use Madico exclusively......so naturally, I would recommend them. Llumar, Formula One (which is actually high-end Llumar film), & SolarGard are pretty good. I've used in the past Johnson Window Films & Solargard..........I prefer going w/ Madico because, in my view, they make more optically clear film.

I know of several dealerships, that are close friends of mine whom chose to switch to Madico's films. One of them would be Song's Tint Masters in LA. They used to be a Formula One dealer (which is considered to be highly prestigious in the industry), but later opted to go w/ Madico & Huper Optik because of its clarity.

Madico's film is a little more expensive than the average film on the market.............approximately 10% more on the cost of a tint job on a typical car, but will provide excellent clarity & heat reduction.

Re: Tint Window~

That really depends on the experience and training that the installers' had. Personally, there aren't that many cars out there that's a challenge for me to tint...........but I have heard from some of my G35 customers, that some places in my area have told them that the Gs a difficult car to work w/ bc of the glass sliding up and down when the door opens and closes................another issue I've heard of is the rear glass being difficult due to the brake light in the way. I've tinted well over 10 coupes this year and haven't had any problems w/ them. It all comes down to experience & training.
