Anyone know how I can keep the new car smell for a long time?

I am in love with the new car smell.
Are there any wipes for the leather or air freshners that smell like the new car smell?

 

my cars always keep the new car smell...i keep the inside clean but dont use any particular wipes,no air freshners etc...i drive with the windows down 80% of the time and if i know im going to sweat i put a towel on my seat...thats pretty much it for me

 

Try keeping the windows closed as much as possible, get in or out of your car as fast as you can. Try not to eat a lot of gassy foods like brocolli or cheese....or hot beef burritos. Shower as often as you can, change your clothes, wear clean shoes........and yep, they do sell air fresheners that has "new car" smell

 

avoid having sex in your vehicle if you can

 

you know, new car smell is actually the smell of the cleaning agents used in the car and is not good for you

 

But it smells so good!

It's kinda like people smoking cigarettes.

They know it's bad but they keep doing it.

 

Wonder Wafers New Leather Smell. I've been using it for 19 months now and people still comment that my car smells brand new.

 

It can be tough to find, but "The Tannery" spray on leather conditioner will make your leather smell like the day you picked your car up. It also does a good job conditioning the leather. Unfortunately, I have a real hard time finding it.

Never farted in it. Seriously. I hold it in or I pull into a parking lot.

 

Kevkel - I Googled Tannery and found two - Tannery Vintage Leather Cleaner and Tannery Leather and Vinyl Cleaner and Conditioner. Both look to be readily available - the first at Midway Auto and the second at ACE Hardware (of all places).

 

Lexol is pretty similar (has natural leather oils in it) so it gives your car leather a great smell. I found it at my local Walmart. http://www.lexol.com

If you live anywhere near a city the two biggest tips would be keep your windows closed as often as possible, and keep the AC unit on recircle as opposed to fresh air. (Although I think the Nissan/Infiniti's auto switch to fresh air after a while?)

Also, definitely don't eat in the car... try not to transport cooked food in the car, and if you have to put it in the trunk.

Keep the leather conditioned and the floor mat's clean and I think you can probably keep the new car smell about 2 years, maybe 3 if you are really careful.

I saw an article on the new car smell once (don't remember where)
What they did is they tested the air in the car (new car) and air outside. And the air inside the car appeared to be more polluted with all the chemicals and other stuff, fumes from fresh materials and paint.

it's called outgassing. it's from solvents, adhesives, resins, etc....
