Unhappy Removing Emblem Adhesive

So I was getting ready to debadge the whole rear end of the car. It was nice and warm out so I left my car out in the sun so that the glue would heat up. I took off all the letterings except for the Infiniti logo. I did not use a hairdryer to heat it up thinking it was hot out as it is. I used goo gone to get the rest of the remaining residue out but there was still clearly areas of adhesive left over. I then tried clay bar thinking maybe that might do it, it did a differece however its still not 100% gone. You can still see the letterings, what are my other options to get it all out? without damaging the paint

If you can see the imprint of the lettering, but can't feel it, then its the solvent that has soaked into the clearcoat. It goes away in a few days from my experience.

the surface is completely smooth (thanks to the clay bar) so it must be what you said it is. I hope it comes out, even though Im putting the skyline emblems over it. Now im a little scared to take off the Infiniti logo. What did you guys use to take the remaining residue of the adhesive off?

i actually used Bug/tar remover when removing my INFINITI letters off. The only thing about using this is that you have to let it sit on the adhesive for a good 2 mins. before wiping off. I used the same tactic as you, no hair dryer or heating gun, just relied on the temperature, my letters were almost off anyway. About the shadowing get yourself some Meguiars ScratchX and with no exceeded pressure compound it into the area. should work out fine.

Im just worried if it doesnt come out, I will be really really upset. Cause as I said, I took the letterings off, the sticky stuff left on I took off with my nails (tedious), the remaining residue I used goo gone and still you could see imprints. Used clay bar and tried with that, made some difference but as stated above, it just made the surface clear while still seeing imprints in the clear coat. I just hope it goes away

Huh... when i was at the car wash, i asked the detail manager how much he would charge to take off the emblems, he looked at it, and said he'll do it for free, no problem. He went and got some string (like kite string), put it behind the emblem, and in a sawing motion (side to side) worked the string down, and it came off really easily. I was suprised. Then the left over adhesive, he just rubbed it off by hand. Put a small bit of wax on there, and it was done.

ohhh a big no no. Make sure you inspect the area thoroughly under a strong white light for any damage. If so definitely go and get yourself some Meguiars ScratchX or you may even need a Light compound Polish. GL
