Angry I Need Help with these dull scratches...

I just washed my car totally and i came across 4 or more burnt on tree sap marks. So I used this generic rubbing compound over them to remove it and it just made it worse. Now i have dull circular scratches with a nice tree sap dot in the middle of them. I tried waxing it and polishing it and it made it better but i can defiantly still see them. What do you guys suggest i put on it, do to it, etc.

Thank you...and if you need some pictures to help you figure it out i can put some on there tomorrow.

Buy some bug & sap remover you can get it any auto parts store. After you remove the sap get some Zaino or Meguiars Nxt wax and polish the hell outta those areas and voilla your done.

Uh... Niether Zaino nor NXT will polish anything. You will have to polish those areas. I suggest using Meguiars ScratchX if you are working by hand. You can get it at Wal-Mart, Target, or most auto parts stores. You really need to work it in, don't just wipe on and off. If your car is rocking from the pressure, you are using it correctly. Keep working it until it is gone.

^+1.

NXT is a wax and Zaino products are sealants (except Z-PC), neither of which will remove any spider webbing. The best way to remove swirl marks and spider webbing is to purchase a Porter Cable and use an abrasive polish like Poorboys SSR products or Menzerna's IP or 0106FF. If you want to try it by hand, try ScratchX. Good luck.

You need to get the sap off. Try a clay bar or tar remover. but rubbing compound is like liquid sand paper anywhere from 1000-1500 grit. Depending on what you used.

So you are going to have to machine polish those scratches out wth the correct machine/pad/liquid. I doubt you will be able to hand polish out what you just did.

So if you don't have the right stuff, let a professional or experienced detailer handle it before you seriously do some damage (that can't be fixed by polishing)

good luck, I happened to do the same thing on my wifes RX300. But it was bird crap that etched the clear. So I've done the same thing bro!
