clear protective sheet in front of rear fender....

I have a couple of question concerning the clear rear fender protection.

1. I got some dried wax stuck along the outer edges of the clear film. Any easy way to get them out other then using my finger nails, which i'm afraid might make creases on the paint.

2. Anyone decided to take them out, and was the fender more prone to rock chip?

take a q-tip and some rubbing alcohol...that will do the trick.

Your fingernail under some microfiber will do it too.

does it really help with rock chips? i didn't even know that area has a higher chance to get hit with rocks than any other parts of the fender or the lower rear bumper area

ive had to replace mine (lower one) on the driver side from a larger rock
or branch tearing at it. so yah, it does provide protection. my paint was
not damaged under there. i also see a lot of speckles on the upper
bra which is evidence that debris is hitting it.

as far as removing the dried wax use your QD and MF towel. if you
use rubbing alcohol it will remove it, but it will also remove the wax
adjacent to the clearbra...

Yes, it provides a ton of protection. I have 70k miles on mine and you should see how marked up that film is. Without it, I would have absolutely no paint in that area. Do not take it off. Just learn how to wax in that area.

Look at your car and think about it: That area is completely unprotected from stuff coming from the front area of the car. It sticks out due to the aggressive styling.
