My seats are greasy looking, what should I do?

I used Meguiar's GOLD CLASS™ RICH LEATHER WIPES
on the passenger seat today and the outcome was terrible. My seat is all oily and greasy looking now. The leather seat is black. Is there any way I can clean it off the seat?

Buff it out with a microfiber, or wipe it down with a woolite water mixture cut 6:1.

Try using a damp cloth on the seat, see if that works

Probably too much product on the applicator, which resulted in the alot getting into the crevises of the leather/vinyl. Try getting one of those soft brushes used for cleaning/polishing leather shoes, and scrubbing the seats with one of those, possibly with some leather cleaner.

Stop using Afro-Sheen

Just wipe it down with a damp rag and then apply light apply the conditioner or cleaner.

I use Eagle 1 leather cleaner/protectant

Try the horsehair brush that you get in the shoe polish kit or you use a soft bristle tooth brush to get in those crevices like redlude said.

I'm personally not a fan of "wipes" for any product. It just puts a ton of the product on. They sound great and easy, but IMO they just are not good as they leave WAY too much product leftover. Leather...vinyl...glass...they should all stop.

I would get a good solid leather cleaner, apply to a quality MF towel, then apply to your leather an buff to dry. Same with leather conditioner.

When it come's to cleaning. I like using a terry cloth applicator for the leather to clean.

if it's greasy get some griot's interior cleaner and do a 50/50 with water
to clean the surface. spray into your short thread type MF applicator
towel and wipe the seats.

then go over it with their LeatherCare Spray. for areas that appear to
be drying, use the regular LeatherCare in very small amounts on their
blue sponge applicator. works great. just dont use so much that the
product gets inside the preforations.

I know its an old thread but I thought it will benefit people who view this. I got my seats messed up just like comson.
Then I waited for a day to see if it will dry. It didn't. My wife was pissed off because I didn't do it on a small area before applying the leather wipes it all over the place.
The next day I applied the Meguiars interior detailer wipes and wiped with microfiber cloth immedietly. It has cleaned up a little bit but still the seats are not in the new great shape. Still I hate myself for using the leather wipes without testing.
I have asked Meguiar's customers support for help. I will let you know what happens.

I use Meguiers conditioners/cleaner all in one and have no problems with them. I just grabbed a cloth, spray some Meguiers stuff on it wipe the entire leather interior... Wait a couple min, come back with a clean towel and pick up the rest of the residue..

Clean with a water-based cleaner (Leather Master's Strong Effect Cleaner - highly efficient for cleaning leather that is very dirty (will also clean ‘blue jean stains) and water based stains of any kind. Clothing dye normally shows as a greyish bloom in seat area. This is usually caused by dark dye transferring from clothing. Particularly avoid brand new (i.e. never been washed) denim jeans, damp knitwear etc (for regular cleaning use Soft Cleaner)
