Removing transparent bra

I have a transparent bra that came with the car on the top portion of the hood near the front side of the car. It doesnt cover much. It has been nearly 12 months since I bought it and my dealer agreed in writing to remove the bra as long as it was done before 12 months. Now the dealer tells me they wont be responsible for any shading difference. I remember they specifically included the 12 month limit to not be responsible for such a scenario.

While I dont expect a repainting if the shade is off, shouldn't a buff take care of it? I mean, the sunlight should penetrate the bra anyway. I thought the bra was to protect chips.

Any advice? The car is blue slate in color.

The bra should reflect UV rays, but so should a good wax. If your car has been left out in the sun all year, I might expect a difference - if not though, would be surprised to find any fading that a buffing wouldn't take care of.

Elayman, I just find it ugly. It looks like plastic covers on furniture. And it doesnt blend in seamlessly.

I agree with G35now. Buffing should be able to remove and the oxidation (If any) when you remove the clear bra. Just remember to clay where the seam of the clear bra, cause I find contaiment there

use a heat gun on low heat but don't hold it in one spot to long keep it moving that will soften the adhesive when peeling it back...good luck
