streaks with QD...what am i doing wrong?

so i just got done wiping my car down with this stuff :
http://www.chemicalguys.com/Spray_Wa...wac_116_16.htm
everything was good till i came back around after doing the whole car and saw streaks like this one all over.(sorry for the poor camera pic.) what did i do wrong? I used 1 spray from 2-3 feet away to wipe the area with a microfiber cloth. did i put too much on? is it not supposed to wipe any dirt beside mild dust? I'm a detailing virgin if it wasn't obvious enough. I just realized detailing is like sex...the first time may not be the best, but you learn when you do it more and when you know you did it right, you can't beat the pleasure.
thank you kindly.

I'm guessing you either used too much or your car was really dusty.

I did this inside the garage. The car had more than just dust on it....the snow around here was starting to melt and it got crap on it from all the puddles....it was all dry when i started wiping it down though.....is a California duster better for such a situation?

^^^ 100% true. You should ONLY use a QD spray if your car is very clean with only slight, and I mean SLIGHT bit of dust on it.
