Window Tint

I just got my window tint re-done, and I am having the same problem. Where the window goes down from entering the car, it is bubbling. Is there anything I can do to prevent this? How do all of you w/ tints prevent this?

I know that, I actually wait 48 hours...my question is how not to get them to go down that little bit when you open the door.

DO you have a warranty on your tint. If its starting to bubble, You can take it back to get it redone.

Umm, is it noticable? if you waited 48 hours, than it might just be the film which might be cheap qualitty.
Just a thought.

nah, its 3M tint, the problem is when I open and close the door. I guess if I let the car sit w/out getting in and out of it it wouldnt happen...but thats kinda hard not to have a car..thanks for thoughts

i got my car done on thursday and i dont even think it was 3m film, but they did a great job and havent had any bubbling. maybe they cut the film too short at the bottom and it sticks out above the rubber on the door, where it should go below

i just got mine also..i have seen a lil air bubble near the same are as you..but when the tint was done the shop gave me this paper telling me info and care about the tint. one was that dont roll down for atleast 2-3 days and the other is that it would take about 3 weeks for the air bubbles to disappear. if that bubble wont go away, ima get it redone.

Typically during install a reputable tint shop...like us, will trick the door to allow full access to the entire window while tinting, apply the film and go behind the gasket inside the door allowing the window film to extend below the gasket which causes no friction as the window dropper moves the window up and down! We double check our work to make sure it is fine by rolling the window up and down numerous times before it is permitted to leave! We recommend 3-5 days before rolling it down just to be sure but we also use a soap and alcohol mixture so it also tacks to the dot matrix perfectly...take it back dude and make them fix it properly!!!

we call them fingers and it happens if the installer doesnt heat the bottom of the window up enough to ensure that it fully tacks and is dry.

take it back and tell them to fix it and make sure the bottom of the window is heated up good so it doesnt happen again!

Waiting 48 is not enough. I waited a good 4-5 days as told by the tinting people.

I'm pretty sure there is no way to stop that.
