Paint Overspray on Windshield

Paint Overspray on Windshield
Anyone have any ideas on how to get paint overspray off a windshield? This happened when I got my car fixed at the body shop, and now whenever the sun is on the windshield it looks like it's all pitted- but I know it's just overspray. I took it back to the body shop to get it taken off but it's still there.... I'm just scared to use anything harsh- like nail polish remover or something- and glass cleaner is obviously doing nothing.

nail polish remover actually works pretty well but you have to scrub.. i don't think it's strong enough to mess up the paint on the body of the car itself.. that paint should be protected by clearcoat anyway.

I would not use nail polisher, if you spill it it will do damage on plastic parts.
Try RainX and if that does not work use Mineral Spirits from your local hardware store.
Be very careful in whatever you use, since the car was just painted, some things that would not normally affect the paint may, if you are still in the 30 day drying period.
Sounds like they did a pretty good job if that is all you are worried about.

If it's only the windshield that the overspray is that visible...would it be out of the quetion to use a flat razor blade...? It shouldn't scratch or anything if you use it from side to side, but I wouldn't do it verticle because of the curvature of the windshield. Just a thought as I'm not sure if it's just a couple little blotches or a whole mess of overspray.

Use a flat blade from a utlity knife. This is what they use to clean window before they apply tint. So long as you scrape perpendicular to the blade's edge you should be fine.
Applied a few tints in my time.
If you're still afraid to use the blade, use some type of paint remover, but ensure you use it sparingly on a tissue or cloth, so that no drips will get on the rubber and plastic pieces on your G. If it does get on the rubber and plastic, it could discolor, even erode the pieces.

Ok, just kidding. Upon closer inspection, and some "feeling around" with the edge of a razor blade, I realized what I thought was overspray is really actually lots of tiny pits. I can't beleive how many there are already!!! Damn Colorado- between the sand used on the roads when it snows and the gravel trucks everywhere you can't win. (But I guess pits from sand is better than rust from salt!)

Yeah... it looks like the G's paint chips very easily. Have mine a month now and I can'y believe how many I found when I washed the G this past weekend. Promptly called an installer on Monday for a clearbra,... she just called me back today to let me know it's arrived. I'm going to have it installed on Saturday.

Re: Paint Overspray on Windshield
good luk daniele i am a paintr myself and i got automotive clear on my old cars winshield . the best thing to do is use a razor blade and go over it with long light strokes .You dont have to apply allot of pressure at all, let the blade do the work. The most important thing is to lube the window frequently with windex or something in that matter .Let me know how it comes out good luck.
