Swirl Swirl Swirl
Swirl Swirl Swirl
Ok... this isnt soo much about asking for advice... but reallying just venting...
I have Sooo many swirl marks on my car... it is pissing me off...
I could not figure out what was causing it, until yesterday .... i was walking out of work, and noticed there was sand everywhere, and it turns out the building next door has a lot of sand that flys everywhere.
I cant believe that sand would be so much, and swirl the car soo much...
Is there anything that can protect it? I doubt it... oh well...

Most swirls are from improper car washing techniques. Wind blown sand is probably not dancing in little circles on top of your paint. The easiest way o prevent swirls is investing in a quality car soap, rinsing your car very well before starting to wash it and using the lightest pressure possible to remove the dirt and debris. Invest in a good microfiber washing mit and drying towel. Waxing your car frequently will also help add some level of protection from additional swirls after you polish it well.

I would think the sand might cause some small scratching, but swirls are from wiping with something abrasive. It could be your towels, sponges, etc. Anything with the least amount of dirt on it and some materials made for cleaning will scratch it.
I'd try the following:
Park away from the sand or get a cover if it continues after getting rid of the current swirls.
Get new, non-abrasive washing and drying stuff and use the 2 sponge, 2 bucket method for washing. Use multiple towels to dry it off.
Get the swirls removed by a trusted shop or DIY.

Well.. the swirl marks are not in perfect circles... and i think i am over selling this a bit... its really not soo bad... just sucks i have it .... i do have some going across lightly..
I will be getting a PC soon, but will only use it one a year, to avoid over doing it..
I do have all the stuff from Detailers Image already....

I agree with the other posters. The sand is probably not really a factor unless it is coming at you at high speed like when driving and very windy. That would be more like sandblasting with small pits etc but not swirls.

It's best to apply wax by hand and then buff it by hand. You can get a more even coat and use much less product. Sealant is good to apply with a soft pad on low speed with the PC (more even application, faster and less product used) and then buff it off by hand.

i use a microfiber was mitt to wash my car but so much little dirt gets stuck in the microfibers that can scratch the car... wouldn't it be better to wash with a chamois, that way you can see that there is no dirt on the cloth?
You guys are right... i am going to order it, as soon as I have enough money... i have been good to the car... maybe i just need to be better about getting new wash mitts and cleaning my microfiber more often.
I only use my microfibers once and then wash it ....
