What do you think of this kit?

I have been detailing for many years and have used all kinds of products, but I am looking for something new and for a whole set. I came across this set and to me, looks like it will do the job quite well. Has anyone every used these products? Also, I have included a water removal product, in which I need for my passanger side windows mainly. Would this work well? Or are there better kits/products out there. Any opinions welcome!

Thanks in advance everyone!

the detail kit is not the best thing IMO, but if you are just getting into this, you'll probably like it a lot. With those polishes though, you are going to need a machine polisher of some sort whether it be a PC, flex, or rotary. Be aware also that they are extremely dusty.

I also have the water spot remover and would not recommend it to anyone. It's not very effective if I am completely honest.

I'm personally not a fan of kits when looking for new products. I have my favorites, but am constantly buying something little here and there of a new product just to try it out. Packages like this just commit too much to a product line. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but if you're just looking for something new I think there are better ways.

That being said, S&W is a great product and I've never met a Menzerna product that I didn't like.

Our Paint Prep & Protection Starter Kit is actually one of our best selling kits. It gives you what you'd need to properly clay your vehicle, remove imperfections with a 2 step polish combination and seal and wax your paint. This combo is going to be tough to beat for under $80. Sure you can get better results by piecing together different stuff, but you'll end up spending a lot more. I think this is a great package to start with if you're looking to upgrade from typical store stocked products.

I appreciate everyones comments and do agree piecing things together is the best bet to get exactly what look you are going for. However, George serves a good point by saying it's a good upgrade from shelf products.. which is exactly what I am looking for. Plus, can't be the price. I'll get a kit and check it out

Agreed...maybe I misunderstood your situation. I didn't realize you were using OTC products, no doubt this package is a great solution for you!

Good luck g35freak!

great point, george... i think for those starting to get into the detailing hobby/lifestyle that this is a good (or adequate) starting point... now i can say from experience (since i bought this same kit previously) that this is a good first kit, but i'm looking forward to trying out some other products (even if they are more expensive)...

here's what i do for water spots, I wash out as much as I can, then i clay them to take out the minerals that aren't deposited on the paint. Then the rest usually polishes out with some abrasive. If i don't want to polish though, I use a chemical cleaner such as Klasse AIO

Well mainly my hard water spots are on the passanger side windows. Would I do the same thing (claybar)?

glass is a little easier to deal with. When I had water spots on my glass, I used this thing called Glass Stove top cleaner and it did the trick but i would not recommend using that again hahah

yeah, try some clay bar on it though then some light polish. If you can get your hands on Klasse AIO, that'd be great! If not, OTC polish probably won't even do much. That's when you go find other things for glass such as alcohol wipes, vingear/water mixture... you know the deal

oh fyi, i bought that glass stove top cleaner at safeway and it was like 4 dollars. pretty lame since i never used it again
