As far as clay bars available in retail stores, steer clear of Meguires clay bar. They are a great company with great products but the general consensus on Autopia is that the Mothers clay bar is far superior. It costs a couple bucks more, but it's worth it to not scratch your paint and not have clay residue everywhere afterward.

I used Mothers clay bar about half a year ago and tonight I am clay barring my car before it gets real cold soon, and prepping the paint for winter, and once again I am going to buy Mothers. Very happy with the results, your car really will look and feel like glass afterwards.

can you use the clay bar on just the parts that feels rough or do you have to always do the whole car??
