Clay bar doesn't always remove wax. Most of the time yes, but depending on the aggression of the user and clay bar, it really varies.

Dawn strips wax... for sure

Rubbing alcohol (isopropyl) denatures wax too. That's why people use it on places where wax gets stuck. It dissolves and removes wax.

No wax lasts 3-5 months. Some sealants have trouble lasting that long!

Yes, bits of wax will come off every time you wash your car, but sometimes, depending on the wax, the wax will already be gone.

Again, I'm not trying to be an ***.
NO worrries, just remember dawn is not to be used to wash cars it fades your clear coat. listen i been doing this long enough to know not to use dish washing soap or rubbing alcohol on a CLEAR COAT, but if you guys wanna do it the lazy, non caring about your car, be my guest and use those products ill do the clay bar and it only takes 15 minutes to do on such a small car, and there 3 types of clay bars so you have a choice. just my thought

Wax Removal....?

I knew when I saw this thread that someone would recommend using dish
washing detergent. (dawn) Anyone that knows anything about detail work
will tell you NEVER use detergent....believe them!

Yeah, I know dish washing detergent isn't for washing cars, and it is not a good option to go to. However, isopropyl/water mixed at 1:1 ratio is fine for cars. I use it after polishing to remove any filling oils.

^ +1. Dawn is mostly frowned upon because it dries the trimming on vehicles if used consistiently but shouldn't be an issue for the yearly detail. ISA wipedown is good for removing wax and is cheaper than purchasing Prepsol to do it for you. You can also use a cleaner wax like KAIO to remove wax. Clay is not always effective and you can't use it to remove polishing oils during polishing.

On autopia, some of best/most experienced detailers in the world recommend using dawn to strip all previous layers of wax/sealant... it's not to be done on a weekly wash as it will fade the trim (never heard about fading the clear coat, as previously commented)... even zaino recommends it on their instructions... this is definitely one of those things where you agree to disagree...

You can clay an entire g35 in one hour. thats a cr*ppy claybar job to be down in that short of a time. to do it right, and to cover every inch it will take you atleast an hour. The roof, hood and side skirts will take 15 min
