Washing at night...

Anybody ever wash their car at night...Obviously under some type of lighting...I know its better to wash the car in the shade during the day, and I seem to have no shade near my house so I'm considering washing at night..Anyone tried this? Thanks

Re: Washing at night...

i just did it last night. it's not too bad; just not as easy to see all the dirty marks. i also use mr. clean auto dry and i just started using a leaf blower to dry it...so it's working out nicely.

I would assume though that you would have to be mindful of the air temperature / humidity to prevent natural moisture condensation on your roof, hood or trunk, i.e. like what occurs when you park your car outside overnight.

I do mine as the sun goes down or even late night. Just need good lighting and make sure its not cold out. Best during the summer so you don't get waterspots. Also good for waxing if you don't have a garage.

It just never stops... which body kit? hmmm?

Re: Washing at night...

I've already washed mine during a light snow in the winter to remove road salt, so I would say wash it whenever you feel you need to........I will admit I at times do get a little obsessed about the car being nice and clean.....especially my wheels..

"but at the same time it's really not a big deal to wash your car in the sun,"

This is not true especially if you have a darker color car. If you wash your car in the sun you will get the spiderwebbing effect on your car. It is very difficult to remove the spiderwebbing once it occurs. I would definitely wash it in the shade or wait until the sun goes down.

Of course if you don't mind those nasty spiderwebs which look like fine swirlly scrathes that go ahead and wash it in the sun.
