Help me remove GUM...

I had a couple of soccer games this weekend and while walking on the grass must have stepped in some gum...Of course I didn't notice until I got out of the car when I returned home and saw 2 huge gum stains on my floor mat...Anyone know of a product that will easily remove this without staining or discoloring the mat...Thanks

G35tuning,

There is a product called "goo gone". It's a orange oily liquid that disolves gum or any type of adhesive. This stuff works REALLY well. With this you'll be able to get everything off, like new.

You could also try 3M adhesive remover or Goof Off. I would test a small area, maybe the corner of your trunk carpet first to make sure it won't damage the carpet. Ice should work though, and whatever remains should easily come off with either of the products mentioned so far.

Re: Help me remove GUM...

To remove gum use.........peanut butter.

No BS here. Get some peanut butter, put it on the gum and work both around. The peanut butter will break down the gum.

Don't even ask me how I know this.

Re: Help me remove GUM...

I will be very hesitating to use any product that can dissolve the gum!!! Think about it, after the gum is dissolved, where is it going to go, soak right into your carpet! Someone suggested to use ice was a good idea. You want it to harden so you can pick it out. You DON'T want to soften it because it will get stickier and messy.
