HELP! Scratched clear bra
HELP! Scratched clear bra
I scratched my clear bra while backing out of my garage. I believe some of its just paint, and it doesn't look like it went thru and hit the paint.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Before you try the abrasive polish, try rubbing it out with a soft cloth and some 99% alcohol. The alcohol will soften the clear bra material a bit and will help it "blend" together. It may take some work, but it's likely to do as much as anything else and will look better as well.
heat gun, on and off, on and off, on and off...I have never done it, but someone else does to all his clear bras with scratches something like 4 second on, let it cool, 4 seconds on, let it cool...you are trying to "re-form" the material...
The alcohol trick worked great when the clear bra was brand new, however, whenever I attempt to use this method now (some 2 years or so later) it causes the clear bra to turn "hazy" where I apply it regardless of whether or not the clear bra is warm or cool to the touch. I takes multiple applications to remove the haze and the scratch is still somewhat there. Anyone know why there would be a haze left by the alcohol?
That looks like white paint from the trim around your garage. I bet some goof off or gum off would wipe it off and then re-wax. Your bra prolly saved your paint underneith...
I did that same thing with my Black Expedition and was able to remove the white paint from the top of my black paint and you could never tell. And I didn't have a clear bra.... I think it's fine under

And as for the goo gone suggestion, that might work on your average paint, but on a clear bra where it is possibly scratched through, you run the risk of ruining the adhesive and peeling (Possibly).
OP, put this up on a detailing forum (DetailingBliss.com), I don't have very much experience with damaged clear bras, but other detailers will know better than I do.
Thanks for all the info.
I was able to get it off with a mircofiber cloth and warm water!! It was just paint off my garage trim, no scratches.
The clear bra right on the edge of the bumper is slightly lighter, and thats about it.
