Road tar - how to remove?
I went out last weekend and detailed the car as best as I could. However, when I got all finished and was stroking the paint (gimme a break, the car looked so good, how can I help myself?) I noticed it was rough. Closer inspection revealed tiny, pen-point sized bits of tar. These seem to be distributed all over the front skirt and gril and the sides above the sills. That is to so, there's not just a few small spots but a significant portion of the paint that needs to have these removed. Is there a product that can be applied liberally to the paint that will help to disolve these spots without causing any damage or abrasions?

Re: Road tar - how to remove?
Try paint thinner on a rag. Sorry..someone will correct me-apply Tar Remover(same thing) to a rag and wipe gently. Try WD40 as well. Always use a soft cloth a turn it often. If you use paint thinner(Tar Remover) you need to follow the thinner with water and then wax the area. Do Not Pour Thinner Directly On The Paint. Use As Little As Possible on a rag and only on affected areas. Don't paint the frontend trying to get it all, take some time and work only where the tar is.

Re: Road tar - how to remove?
Dont get bug+tar remover unless they are brand-new-bugs and brand-new-tar because it doesnt always work, especially if your car is older than a year, or if the bugs+tar have been on your car for more than 2 weeks
Paint thinner will work just fine on a cotton rag or an old undershirt...just remember to soapwash+polish+wax the area afterwards
