Any tricks to get a very small ripple out of the front bumper? Mop fell on it a few weeks ago and creased it.

Its not very noticable, but I know its there.

Its not worth taking it to a body shop since most people can't even see it, and since its on the plastic I know those paintless guys can't do anything.

i used a heatgun on my rear bumper after pushing out a huge dent.. there were 4 small dents left and it made them less noticeable.. I have no prior experience using heatguns or fixing dents, but it worked sorta well..

 

Careful use of a heat gun, and then apply an ice cold cloth. This should work if it's minor. The cold cloth causes it to contract and helps smooth out the ding.

not sure about the cold cloth, but the heatgun did nothing to my paint. just make sure you don't touch the tip of the heatgun to your paint, or leave it on too long or it may melt your paint

 

Nice. My ding is about 3inches and very shallow, but it goes over the crease in the nose vertically. Roughly the width of a mop handle... go figure :P

Oh, you think a hair dryer will get hot enough?? Lol trying to track down a real heat gun.

 

^ I tried a hair dryer and it did nothing. I'd borrow one, or worst comes to worst you can buy one for pretty cheap online or at a local auto store

 

A hair dryer's definitely not hot enough!

 

Heat gun's like $40. Much cheaper than a body shop. And useful for ultra-polishing boots... as any old-school Army guy would tell you.

 

you can use a propan torch but don't have it to close this what i have to do if the dendt won't stay out just stay a very good distance from it
