I have a deep scratch on my car. Deep enough to need to re paint it. But I have a bottle of Meguiar's Scratch X lying around and I was wondering if it would be able to at least make it somewhat better? I know it won't remove it, but would it possibly improve it in some way? Thanks.
Ahhh man alright. Thanks. Does anyone know any product that will at least imrpvoe deep scratches? Besides getting it repainted of course.

You need a DA polisher or a high speed buffer and rubbing or polishing compound to lower the thickness of the surrounding clear. I don't advise that. You'd be better off getting it touched up or repainted altogether.

Yea sorry to hear about that man, getting your paint scratched is a bitch. Someone keyed my 3000gtvr4 2 years backed and i was pissed.
I tried that stuff, didn't make a difference.

Here is a quick chart I got, might not be 100% but for what I want to explain its fine :P

As you can see, ScratchX 2.0 is a 8/12 on the aggressiveness chart. It can remove scratches, oxidation, body contaminants..ect but More or less this product was to be used by hand, and you can use it with a DA.
If you have the original ScratchX I would say forget about using it lol.
If you are going to use a DA, I would recommend Ultimate Compound or SwirlX, these are meant for a DA and you will be getting alot more polish/compound for a bit less $. You can also apply these by hand.

ScratchX works great on small fine scratches, anything deeper needs to be removed using a high speed buffer by a professional. It might cost $20 to get it taken out but you could easily spend that much on products that won't get the job done....
