HELP...Huge scratches!!!
HELP...Huge scratches!!!
I parked my car in the city today for about 20 mins, the car that was parked behind me was a black accord when I came back out to the car the Accord was gone, when I finally got home I decided to wash my baby and when I got around to the backside I came across 2 10" inch scratches...My car is an Ivory Pearl coupe, the cuts are deep...They are 2 huge black marks and its not paint from the other car, its just that deep...Id say the marks are about as wide as a pencil maybe a lil bit smaller...Anyone know what my next step should be to remove these or cover them up, if I take it to an autobody shop they'll surely have to repaint the entire back bumper...Which ='s $$$$...Help me out here guys

it sounds like you got keyed?
a few topics back i posted on plasti-kote's touch-up kit. you could give that a try. filled in my scratches, clearcoated it, and now it is visible only when i look hard for it

If the scratches are deep enough so the bumper material (black) is showing.......I would suggest you go to a reputable body shop and get a estimate for the repair....
It doesn't sound like the type of damage simple touch up paint would cover......
I had two small chips in my Ivory Pearl bumper, and the repair cost was around $450.....because they still have to blow in the whole bumper in order to match the paint successfully......
If you car is worth anything to you, I would get it professionally repaired, or maybe consider an aftermarket bumper........
There are some body shops that do air brushing touch ups, you may consider this approach as well.....they usually are able to cover or fill in the damage and clear over the area so you don't have to sand/prime/paint/clear coat.........
