colgan bra

Finally ordered one yesterday.
I commute on highway (crappy one) almost daily. So I need to keep it on during weekdays. Take it off, wash and wax the front portion of the car over weekends.

I am wondering, if I put it on and off every week, will the bra lose elasticity or detoriate fast ? Anyone having warranty issue with Colgan ?

Most people seem to put it on during long trips. Are there any cons leaving the bra on for a longer period of time (like weekdays) ?

Thanks

Re: colgan bra

The only negative is the amount of dirt that gets trapped under the mask, especially the top of the hood piece. In certain light, when the mask is off, you can see a line of where the dirt gets trapped under the top portion of the hood piece. I had my mask for two years with no problems (on my TT). The first time I tried to install the mask was biatch. It was way too tight (even leaving it in the sun to heat up). It has definately gotten easier to install (lost some elasticity). I have had no problem with the product, just the people who took my order.

i think autoanything.com has the best prices. they often give out 10% off coupons and free shipping. i bought mine two years ago and have only used it twice for long trips. the clearbra is 100 times better for everyday protection. using a leather car bra will often times change the color of the paint due to different exposure to the elements. and as someone else has mentioned, you run the risk of scratching your car with it on....especially noticeable if you have a black car.

yes... I got mine from autoanything.com maybe about 2 months ago. $90-10%. So it's about $81 total.

There's a few things to keep in mind when getting a leather bra:

1. Do not keep the bra on for an extended time period under the sun (wks to months). Blocking off complete exposure to UV rays will eventually create a two tone effect on the paint.

2. Make sure the bra fits snugly as highway speeds could create a flapping that could scratch the paint especially when there's dirt / debris under.

3. Be careful when removing the bra when there's dirt under as it may scratch the paint.
