Re: Paper made scratches on my car!!
Last week here in New Jersey we had a couple of 30mph wind days.....after the winds calmed down, I noticed some serious scuff/scratches on the hood of my car.....
At first I thought it was some wise A$$ who may have put a package on my hood while he/she opened his/her door. But the marks were over a large area of my hood.....I was sooooo Pissed.
I then came to the conclusion that a box or something had blown across the hood of my car on those windy days...
It took me almost 3 hrs to remove the marks/scratches by hand rubbing with a mild compound/polish....
Most have disappeared, but some where a little to deep to remove completely.....Maybe after the winter months I will try to buff the hood or take it to a detail shop and have them do the whole top of my car.....

Re: Paper made scratches on my car!!
Paper of any type can scratch the finish on any car, I had a piece of butcher wrap catch on the hood of a Mustang I had some years back, on the freeway, by the time I stopped and it fell off, it left a permanent "scuff" mark on the hood, just the flapping caused that. Good luck getting rid of this, I hope someone can help!

For one it takes more than a couple of minutes of hand buffing out scratchs. Get a good scratch remover, then work at it, remove it, then repeat. May take a coupe of hours on a large spot, but most of it should buff out!

I would say you should just take the car to a detailer.
Or if your comfertable with polishing then give it a go. Since it is not likley you have a circular polisher I would reccomend getting a light polish like meguirs scratch x remover and a 100% cotton towel. Then wash the car, clay the area your going to polish, polish the area by hand, while using your own judment as to whether or not your actually removing the scratches or making it worse and add wax once you are satisfied with what you have done.
If this sounds to hard for now then look into a good detailer.
