Rust
Rust
I just notice a spot by my driver's side rear wheel well that is chipped down to the metal and may be rusting. It is surrounded by a few minor scratches, so I am guessing it was done by rocks or something in the road. Can anyone please suggest what I can do about this. I love my car, and this is killing me. If I take it to the dealer, will I get raped on the price?
Many thanks

Re: Rust
If it is inside the wheel well, sand it down and use a spray can primer and paint to touch it up. After a while the road grime will blend it in.
If it is on the outside body, take it to the dealer and several other custom shops to get a price.

Re: Rust
You can do what merlin said but i wouldnt spray paint on the primer. Everything should be done with a fine brush. After the primer then add the touch up paint..also u might want to invest in the blob eliminator. This helps in removing the blobs of paint that accumalate out side of the chips and scratches
. i have some and used it on a couple of scratches ..It works pretty good..its a painstaking process though..u have to keep going back and reapplying the paint so it fills the scratch or chip fully. Definately get some paint on it though to stop the rust. In the meantime while waiting for the blob eliminator i would put a little w-40 on the rust .. to contain it f
or a while
