Went to go talk to a neighbor after getting home last night and walking back up to my house I noticed a horrible scratch on my passenger side rear bumper..WOW it's probably a 3x1ft scrape..I assume it's from someone pulling out from a parking spot because I parked it in a public spot downtown tonight near some popular places.
What are my options? I was thinking of just sanding it down and putting some touch up paint over it and then just going over it with a PC and buffing/polishing it until it looks as good as I can get it..
What are my options? Should I just take it to a body shop? I'd hate to have to just get a new bumper but that's the obvious best way to do it..the scratch actually goes a little bit outside the bumper, even.
Had some other people look at it and they said it seems like the white scuffs could actually be paint from the other car.. what are my options?

i used it plenty times including yesterday when part of a tree bark flew off a truck and hit the side of my car 2 days ago.
also that rubbing compound by turtle wax that comes in a green tub worked great for me a number of times..its a start.

I would try a good polishing using a good buffer, if that fails take it to a body shop.

yes i agree, all that paint or at least 95% will come off, then was PC or DA with ultimate compound. and will do the trick good luck.

You took good pics of the damage. When using an aggressive compound, just take your time - it may take more than one pass for things to look right.
