Black trim, this works!

Having OCD about how SLICK runs and looks I've never been satisfied with how the rubber trim around her windows looked. Found Meguiar's Ultimate Black and this really works, absolute black and shiny trim after one application just how I wanted it to look....great stuff!!

I've been using the mothers back to black and it usually works but I'll have to try this on some of those stubborn parts.

Another item I found for scratch removal that's better than ScratchX which I used for years is "3M Scratch Remover!" I add a few drops to my buffer pad when using cleaner. Results are in my latest pic taken at Glendale Infiniti....Gary

Spent a few hours yesterday morning cleaning my sunroof and lubed the mechanical parts with gun juice. All the trim around the edges looks great after using some Ultimate Black. A quick wipe down with detail spray and microfiber rag and she's better than new....Gary

I like Meguair's Ultimate Black, and Mother's Back to Black alright, but both products don't seem to last very long.

I've actually found that taking a very, VERY light coat of Meguiar's Ultimate Tire Shine and applying it to the trim works wonders. It won't smear if you use a light enough coat, and it actually stays black longer than both of the other products.

I've also resorted to using PlastiDip on faded black parts that can't be revitalized (e.g. side mirror trim, wiper blade arms, etc.)

Got any pics of the results? Potential before/after?

Sounds like a good product!

Does this help with light scratches on the trim or just shining it?
I never had the guts to try anything on there cause I was afraid of making the light scratches worse.

Which trim are you talking about? I didn't know you could scratch rubber trim...

The trim at the bottom of the side windows.
The rubber trim is easier to scratch cause it's soft.

I had a light scratch on the black trim around the drivers door and tried Ultimate Tire Shine, it didn't make a difference. That's why I bought Meguair's Ultimate Black, one application and the scratch was gone. It also did a nice job on the trim around my sun roof. I'm really impressed with this stuff other wise I would post my opinion/thoughts....Gary

I am going to have to try this stuff. I am not usually real careful when I wax, so I have plenty of white residue on my trim that I need to take care and armor all doesn't always cut it.

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods
^^Use a soft bristled toothbrush to get wax residue off the trim and in small places like between the body and headlights/taillights, it'll amaze you how effective it is.

Nice Tim........a very soft bristled tootbrush! You won't need a toothbrush if you tape off those areas with blue tape before waxing. Body seams around the front and back fenders I use a micro towel and filed down ice cream stick....giving away my secrets.

Ultimate black works for a bit, but then you'll always keep having to reapply it every few weeks or something like that. If you want something more permanent that'll last way longer then I'd suggest getting Leatherique's rubber black dye.

http://www.leatherique.com/products.html

Scroll down or ctrl+F rubber black dye. Got the 32 oz one awhileee back and it'll last you for forever. Used to use it way more before I got my body kit for my sedan because of all the black trim.
