Self Healing paint - Contact old member??

Hey guys,

RE this old thread:
https://g35driver.com/forums/care-de...iti-g37xs.html

There's a guy anzubero... does detailing in NY -- I just bought an 09 G37x and the dealer swirled the **** outta the clearcoat....

He hasn't been active on this board since last year, anyone know how to get in touch with him?

Thanks

Are you dead set on him? Any professional detailing place can get it back to a mirror shine. Or you can invest a few hundred & a few hours & polish it out yourself & save money in the long run. Just saying.

Ya just look up on yelp for ones with good reviews or ask in the regional section for a recommendation on a good detailer in your area.

^ How is it further from the truth? Maybe my choice of words were a little misleading. If you have the time a full restore can be done in 6-8 hours. Not any pro shop can turn it around but any reputable one can if the damage hasen't gone too far.

So what you are inferring is that it should only take between 6-8 hours to do the following:

wash, clay, prep
full paint correction with 3 steps of compounding/polishing
clean paint, lay on wax, remove wax
clean the wheels, tires, windows, door jambs, dress tires

To be completely honest, a one step takes 5-6 hours, so I have no idea how you are supposed to get the compounding and heavier polishing done in 8 hours. If you can do it with the same results I can, then more power to you, but I've been doing this for about 7 years now and cant find a way to cut out at least 5 more hours of work

I've had clients come t me and think it will take 5 hours total...I did a test section on their car only to find out I would have to three step it...that single section took 20 minutes...now multiply that by the rest of the car, and add in the other aspects...end result, I booked those clients for 12-16 hour jobs!

I am not talking about all that. Obviously you are doing clients cars so you do all the extra stuff. I'm just talking about wash, clay, polish, and wax. Anything else is on the owner if he wants even more detail.
