ironx - rail dust, surface rust spots, rotor rust
I've always had small surface rust spots from the front wheels back on my cars. I attribute this partially to hand washing which allows time for a visible rust buildup on the rotors. The rust then flys off when braking and some of it deposits on the car. It appears on plastic mirrors and bumpers so I know it's a surface deposit. Getting it off with a clay bar is close to impossible.
I heard about ironx (iron x) and wanted to try it. Followed the instructions on the bottle using a giant household sponge and was completely satisfied with the results. The fluid is clear and immediately turns purple on all the rust spots, definitely not a gimmick. Google it if you want to see a video and discussions on other forums. I'm not aware of anything else out there that takes care of these surface rust spots so easily. I had 6yrs of build up and it required no elbo grease what-so-ever.
One thing to watch out for on our cars is the plastic/rubber piece that runs along the bottom side of our doors. The ironx got inside there and was bleeding purple out one end no matter how much I tried to spray it out. I had to spend a good deal of time blasting it out with water and compressed air. That piece should probably be removed before using this product.

Yeah its a great product, just very expensive to buy and use. I use about .2-.3L to clean the wheels alone. Using it to decon the paint would prob be atleast .5L, something I wish I could do more often but just isn't cost effective to me.
I can tell you that Klasse AIO (which contains a polish) by hand won't cut it. This ironX stuff takes care of it with no elbo grease what-so-ever. I did burn through half a bottle though and cost is an issue. I certainly won't be using it every year.
