Which Synth Wax?

So which one? And should I give it to the detailer and ask them to use it? Don't they usually use carnuba wax? I assume a synth coat lasts longer and works better but I need some schooling..

The best synthetic wax that i know of is Klasse All in One. This is a non abrassive polish that shines paint and gives it some protection but you should really protect it with the Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze after for maximum protection. Your correct that a synthetic wax will last longer if you use both of these steps the protection lasts up to six months depending on driving conditions. There is a deal on the Klasse twins AIO and HGSG at http://secure.detailedimage.com/Merc...ry_Code=Bundle.

Carnauba Waxes are great for giving your G maximum shine and gloss and they are applied much easier than most waxes/polishes. I just detailed a G with the Klasse All in One and then followed it up with the p21s Carnauba Wax http://www.detailedimage.com/gal9.htm. However the big problem with Carnauba's is that they don't last more than a couple of weeks and I personally feel as though they attract a little more contamination then regular waxes. But if your going to a show or you got a hot date there is nothing better than a carnauba.

As for bringing it to a detailer thats a difficult decision. I know lots of detailers like myself that take their time and do great work and tend to be more expensive. For everyone one detailer I know that offers quality work there are a lot more that don't. Many detailers just don't care and are paid based upon volume of cars done not quality. So my recomendation is to search around for a quality detailer based on several recomendations or to try it yourself. I personally enjoy doing my own car and knowing that it gets the proper treatment. If your not sure if you can do all the steps yourself, it's not as hard as it seems with a little practice and some help. There is an extensive wealth of knowledge on detailing on the internet. Here's a link to a "How To" page that should help you do just about every step of the detailing process http://www.detailedimage.com/howto.html . If you have any more questions feel free to post them. Good luck!

Wax on top of sealant?

Punchit,
Can you put carnauba on top of Zaino or another sealant type product to try to get shine and not have to wax every two weeks if you want to let it slide now and then? I also find that Zaino seems to attract more dirt although it washes off easily. I am sure this will attract flaming from Zaino lovers but ...

I use Klasse AIO with P21S Carnuba with excellent results but am switching to a combination of Klasse AIO and Menzerna FMJ for the hot summer months.

No. Zaino is not compatible with any other wax/polish. Carnuba wax will not be able to bond with a coat of Zaino

Zaino has good results but the big problem is that you can't use other brands with it. Maybe you can try it and let us know but I've heard that just about any brand used in combination with Zaino doesn't work well. I like Klasse, Menzerna, Poorboys, P21S, Clear Kote and others because I can mix and match my favorites.

I like what maxpower does as well I often times use the Klasse twins and p21s carnauba on top. Paint looks like glass after.

I have a good detailer or two I can rely on so I think I am ordering the Klasse All in one and the sealant and then I'll carnuba after that once in a while. Not sure how i've gotten this far on plain old carnuba so long. Time to start getting serious before the clear coat thins out. I want this baby for 10 years! Thanks for the help guys. Also I love to do the detailing myself but I don't have time with my wedding day coming.

Glad to hear there is some quality detailers in Philly there is a lack of them in most places. There is a big sale on the Klasse twins, $39 after the storewide 10% discount and you get two free microfiber towels and two mircofiber applicators http://www.detailedimage.com/index.html but the deal ends in April. Then put that Carnauba on top and you'll be very happy!

Congrats on the upcoming wedding!

Thanks Punchit! Too bad I ordered already or I would have saved about 15 bucks. Is Klasse the undisputed value in sythetic wax world (other tha zaino?).

I'm a Zaino guy, but I know that Klasse is a great product also. The bottom line with this stuff is that there are many good products out there to choose from. If you keep up a regular washing cycle and impliment proper washing/washing techniques, your car will be tip-top. Taking it to a detail shop once per year for a nice buff also rids your paint of any minor imperfections.

Washing and waxing your car frequently and properly is far more important than deciding which product(s) to use.

I've heard endless arguements about which wax(s) are best. I've heard arguements for and against just about every wax out there and the truth is I don't think any of them are right. Zaino and Klasse are very popular and have ranked in the top three in an independent studies. My personal opinion is that there is no best just what works best for you. Each car has it's own unique paint situation that is influenced by the color, quality of paint, type of paint (solid color vs. metalic), clear coat, weather conditions, garaging, and more so it's difficult to compare for me. Ultimately the beauty is in the eye of the beholder, what looks great to me not to someone else. Both products are great and I think BobbyG123 said it best for everything else I was gonna say. I would recomend experimenting with different brands and combinations of products to figure out what works best for you. Good luck and keep up the love of your G.
