Clear Bra

Clear Bra
I need some advice. I just purchased a new 2005 a black g35x and was wondering if the paint on the 2005s are any better than the 2004. I've read that the 2004s and prior was prone to chipping.
I've read great things about Zaino and I'm sold. My idea was to Zaino my car with 3 coats and then add a clear bra. Does anyone have any advice on types of clear bra, like brand 3M or other third party protectors? I've heard mixed results from some ppl, but I wanted to hear from my fellow g35 owners if any have had any bad experiences with clear bras, like discoloring, dirt trappings? Last but not least, any recommendations on a reasonably priced and skilled clear bra installer in the Northern VA/DC/MD area?
Thanks!

I don't think the paint on the 05 is any better than on the 04. Plenty of 05 owners have complained about stone chips early. You're on the right track. Get that Zaino on there, then have the clearbra installed (Remember: Installation is KEY! so get yourself a good installer, not just the cheapest).
As far as clearbra brands, I have only had experience with 2 (3M and Llumar). The 3M is not the clearest film but provides good protections. The Llumar film is equally protective but is much clearer than the 3M. The Llumar paint protection film is made by Llumar, one of the most popular and well known manufacturers of window tint and other window/paint coverings.
I went with the Llumar, as that is what my dealer recommended to me. I also compared the films at the dealership and felt better going with the Llumar.
Good Luck!

I may be wrong, but I'd wax first!

I had a guy come to my house a couple of weeks ago to install a clear bra. Before he applied the clear bra he cleaned the entire front end of the car with a solvent to remove any wax. I watched. I don't see how it would adhere to a waxed surface. He did say to wax over the clear bra after it had set for several days, which I did with Zaino.

Yes, doing the whole hood is possible......here are some pics of superman's g w/ the entire hood done about a month ago - https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...ight=clear+bra
As for polishing, it really isn't necessary unless you get a scratch on the film. Just keep a coat of wax on it and use plexus to take off the bugs and road grime.
