Michelin Brake Dust Repellent

I picked up this product yesterday at R&S Strauss. It says it will aid in repelling brake dust off the rims. Its part of a 3 stage cleaner system for wheel/tires

They also sell rim and tire cleaner, as well as tire shine

I gave it a shot yesterday, and will see how well it will perform on our non-Brembo brake dust problems......I'm guessing it works similar to rejex. Time will tell.

Unit cost is about $6.00 for a 15oz spray can.
Heres the link for any interested

That cleaner is real interesting guys, because it's non-corrosive, unlike the other wheel cleaners on the market. No "avoid contact with skin" with this product I believe...

There was a thread about this in the Canada forum awhile ago, it went to 3 or 4 pages. I think the ultimate conclusion was the stuff works pretty well. I used it before a 1000 KM trip and saw a noticable decrease in brake dust on my rims after the trip. Here is a picture of my rim after the trip. Anyone who owns an 03/04 sedan knows this is quite a bit less dust than you would normally see after a drive of that length. What was there wiped off more easily too. So ya, I'm using this stuff pretty regularly now.

Again I detail professionally and the best product I have found out there for protection is the Poorboy's World Wheel Sealant. It is meant to with stand high temperature brake dust that comes off your pads at sizziling temperatures. It also keep road grime right on the surface for VERY easy removal. It lasts much longer than the spray on waxes and gives your wheels better protection in the long run. Most people have expensive wheels so I think it's a great investment in the long term care of the wheels.
