Crystal Guard Longevity pics

Here are two pics of my CGed coupe BEFORE I washed it!
It has been raining here forever. I have been real suprised as to how clean the car stays w/ CG. When I used to use Zaino, there is NO way the car stayed this clean. Note the spots and dirt on the hood.

Re: Crystal Guard Longevity pics

BillR,

Did you do the quick method with the spray bottle or did you apply the professional version with a gravity feed spray gun and compressed air?

that's nice... i see your paint doesn't have that orange peel... i think mine does, but hard to see on a pearl car.

Re: Crystal Guard Longevity pics

cool tako, are you getting us some Nismo products from japan?

Yeah I just washed my car today, first time in 3 weeks...i CG-Quicked my car about 8 or 9 weeks ago.
Man, it is still VERY VERY shiny!
Gonna put another coat of CG next weekend hopefully.

I Crystal Guarded (Quick) my G35C a week ago and was wondering about multiple coats. is it recommended? Is it a reasonable assumption that it will last longer? Will the shine get even deeper? How many coats would be ideal?

Thanks, and thanks again for your help last week with posting the pic. I'm going to attempt it again now.

Re: Crystal Guard Longevity pics

Yes, what i meant by layering, is that the glass and flourine bonds will get thicker and stronger, and thus a deeper shine that will last longer as well

I mean if you think about it.....they even sell extra bottles of "Top-Coat" and they even recommend putting 2 coats of "top-coat" for the Pro kit.
I'm assuming you can do the same with the Quick kit, since its pretty much the same liquid material

Re: Crystal Guard Longevity pics

Is there a specific reason you went with CG, not Zainos? I went out and spent $50 for ZFX, Z2 and Z6, today! Let's hope the G is happy with the Z's.

Re: Crystal Guard Longevity pics

How does the CG work with swirl marks? My car is suffering from them already and would like to fix that first.

Re: Crystal Guard Longevity pics

Yeah, CG is not for swirl marks.....its more of a wax/protectant.
To remove swirls properly, you need to get an orbital polisher with a good foam pad so that it will cut a tiny layer of the swirly clearcoat so that it becomes smooth.
CG would be put on AFTER any polish or swirl remover.

I like and used Zaino on my G. I had 7 coats on it when I found out about CG. The Zaino is VERY labor and time intensive to achieve a WOW shine. layer after layer; waiting for it to dry (w/ZFX) in humid wx. Lots of buffing, and it attracts dust & dirt. But it is VERY good, and lasts quite nicely.

The CG got a better shine w/ initial coat and gets better. Car stays clean. Not sure how or why; but it does. About 90% less effort and time to get great results. And so far it lasts quite well, and the shine holds up better after lousy weather.
