Take it to your nearest detailer and they can remove the dust off the wheel by using the power wash. Last time, I took to the detailer and they washed the car and wheels... and it came out looking as new!

I have seen in another thread that people buy "Green Stuff" pads. I guess they don't produce break dust.

To remove brake dust that is really embedded in the wheel use P21S Finish Restorer. This metal polish works deep beneath the surface to remove the worst brake dust. Takes a little bit of time but gets the job done right! To prevent it from building up again use Wheel Wax or Poorboy's World Wheel Sealant after. Both help keep brake dust from building up on the wheel and make future cleanings very easy. These products have been a lifesaver for me and all of my friends.

Use ArmorAll wheel cleaner. it comes in a silver bottle and it works. get your wheels wet and then spray that stuff on and then use a towel to break the stuff loose.

Go to local auto store, buy whatever brand of wheel cleaner you like. I like duponts because 1) its non acidic, 2) it's retardedly cheap. If that doesn't do it, get something more potent (Punchits recommendation of P21S is good).

Don't use Mr. Clean Magic Erasers or steel wool. Basically I treat my car like my face. Anything I won't put on my face I won't put on my car. Either one of those wheel cleaners will allow you to remove most brake dust with water, or at most a cloth towel.
