safe to claybar after your car has been wax 1-2 wks ago?

i was gonna wash, clay, wax my car the other week. But got lazy, so I just washed and waxed it... is it okay to claybar my car on my next wash since it still has wax on it? or won't that be any good? It's only been like 1-2 weeks since my last wash/wax...

Damn bird and water spots on my car under very strong flourescent lighting, and it really bugs me... but under sunlight and regular lighting you can't even see the spot marks really... it just really bothers me cause i know its still there...

claying

Its ok to clay your car anytime . It will remove the wax on your car. Ive been in car care industry for 10 years, its the first thing i do to my new cars. There are many brands of clay but i only reccomend AUTO MAGICS CLAY MAJIC. They were the first about ten years ago. I have taken a new black car and clayed it with CM and it did not leave any hazing scratches. Many other brands do, then the car will need to be pollished to clean the clear coat after the claying. AutoZone usually carrys it. It has a blue gumby figure on black box. Wax your car afterward and your set. Do not wash your car with any laundry soaps or dawn and such. This will strip wax off car. Use water or carwash soaps. It usually takes about 20 to 30 minutes to clay most cars. Box out little sections and overlap on each.
Under bright floresent lights all cars will show their inperfections. That why we use them to get cars paint clean. Only a show car detailer that does many steps and layers can make them flawless. Ive seen as many as 26 personally. Nothin like a clayed car with wax. Smooth and shiney. GOOD LUCK

well i use mother's claybar kit, still have some left, only done it once, its a long process for me, dont know how ppl can wash, wax clay there cars so fast, last time it took me 12 hrs non stop to do all 3...

i guess as long as there's no flourescent lighting around, i'll be ok, hehe... i was thinkin of even paying a detailer to do the job for me. But its very hard to trust anyone with your car these days. I don't know what to do, i never even polished my car b4, the most is wash, clay, wax... those are steps like polish, removing scratches kinda scare me that i don't even wanna attempt... wish someone who knows what they're doing and someone i can trust around here do it for me. I wouldn't mind paying them...

Where are you from? You could head over to Autopia.org and put up a post in the regoinal forums asking for a local reputable detailer. The guys over there are top notch.

I do professional detailing work in Albany, NY if you want to drive up. I've had customers come up from Manhatten to have work done before. We're a very trusted and reputable detailing business that prides itself on doing things the right way. We take our time and always turn out high quality work. We offer just about all detailing services ( wash/dry/clay bar/abrasive polish/ chemical polish/ glaze/ sealant/ wax/ etc.) If your interested in coming up PM me and we can set something up, although we are getting pretty booked right now with this nice weather still.

Like these guys said, it's perfectly fine to clay-bar after you've waxed...you'll just be losing the hour spent waxing it the 1st time.
