Exclamation Clay windshield?

Anybody ever clayed their windshield to try and remove the spots caused by acid rain? I thought about doing it, but decided to ask here before jumping in with both feet. If you did, did it work?

Yep - I clay all the windows whenever I clay - it takes off waterspots just like it would on paint. It won't remove etchings, though (just like on paint).

Clay works great on the windshield. Its probably more likely the water marks on your glass are from deposits in the water during washing than acid rain.

If you clay your windshields, do not use the same clay on your paint. There are some harsh/hard deposits that will kill the coat.

Agree. But, you can use clay that you used to use for your paint on your windshield.....

So, use your new clay on paint.
The clay you used to use on paint, use on the windshield
The clay you used to use on the windshield into the garbage.

Also, if you ever drop the clay on the ground, it goes in the garbage.

I clay in the Spring and Fall and I use a new piece for all painted surfaces each time. I recommend getting the 200g bars instead of the regular 80g bars usually found in stores. I then cut the bar with a razor in about five pieces that way if you drop one you can throw it out and not be too upset. I spray a little bit of the quick detailer in the container that comes with the clay bar so it stays soft and fresh. I'll keep the old pieces for glass and the like.

It is good if you can clay bar your windows once in a while. You will be surprised how much dirt you can pick up even you think your windows look clean to you.

I clay the glass every time! Gets the goo and minerals off really well.

I have 3 bars - one for paint, one for wheels, and one for glass. Change them after about 4 clayings. Actually, the used glass clay bar becomes the wheel clay bar and the used paint clay bar goes to my cheap nephew who won't buy clay!

I use Stoner's Invisible Glass. Does the clay bar still pick up stuff after cleaning with the Stoner's? I think the Stoner's does such a good job, I'd be surprised if the clay would do any better.

The clay is designed to remove bonded contaminants.

When you wax your cax, the polishes and waxes will not remove bonded contaminants. The same goes for glass cleaning. A glass cleaner will get the crap off, but there may still be some stuff on there that it can't remove.

The clay will remove that.

The method I would recommend is wash your car (and glass obviously). Then clay it. Then use your Stoner's or whatever glass cleaner you are partial to.

If you've never clayed your glass, you WILL notice a difference.
