alternative to car wash..
alternative to car wash..
I just bought my sedan a few days ago, and have heard
terrible stories about taking the car to a car wash.
Can some people tell me what kind of materials (sponge type, soap, wax, chamois and leather cleaner, etc) has worked out best for them with this car and the type of regimen used.
Also, where I live, it has been raining the past couple of days
and will continue to due so for most of the week. The car has
been getting WET!!
How much time should pass before I need to wash the rain scum off of the car?
Thanks in advance.

First Ricky Williams and then Big Pokey from Houston!!! Wow! Hey, try a Laser Wash. I get them at my local Chevron. A truely touchless auto wash. Hope this helps.

There are numerous resources on the forums about car washing and protection products and regimens. Use the search function and you'll find detailed lists of items and options for hand washing. Check out the detailing forum for resources, as well.

Take care, the paint scratches easily. I used
some bug and tar remover to remove some
bird sh&t, ended taking the clear coat off the
spot. I use a leaf blower to dry the car, as it
is touchless.

Alternatively, one could simply allow a layer of dust and grime to build up on the car and stay there. This will provide a protective barrier against bugs and UV rays.
