Microscratches!!!
You can purchase a Porter Cable random orbit polisher or you can use something like Scratch-X. If you want more info, go to Autopia.org or Meguiars.com and do a search. Otherwise, get your car professionally detailed. Oh, the last option, if the scratches are really micro is to use some sort of glaze to fill the scratches in. This option doesn't last long.
I would suggest that you visit one of the above sites to learn how to avoid microscratches. For example, use microfiber towels instead of cotton. DO NOT go through automatic car washes. Keep a layer of wax on your vehicle. Believe me, if you want to know how to do anything with or for your car, search this forum.

Scratch-X is a very mild abrasive and it's meant for use by hand. It's a fine idea if the scratches you're trying to remove are very light and in small areas. If they're all over the car it would literally take you a week.
In any event, heading to Autopia is a great idea.

Porter Cable with Poorboy's World SSR 2.5 followed by SSR 1.0 does an amazing job of removing the swirls and making the surface shine again. Then just seal it with your favorite sealant/wax. You can do it by hand but Porter Cable will give you the best results overall.
