I've used Zaino, P21s and Zymol and also have had the dust magnet issue. I think I've read Klasse (sp) does not attract dust as much....maybe I'll try that.

Don't be discouraged, there are a few loudmouths in every group. If you are on here for a while, you can figure out who knows there stuff and who's shinin' you on.

We all like to joke a bit. What I don't like is the pissing contests. We are all adults (sic) here. Let's have some fun and help each other out. I know I have learned a wealth of info on here.

The one thing that irritates me is my car attracts dust like a magnet... Could that be due to the P21S? That stuff goes on like crisco and wipes off real easy...

I tried NXT (Paste) do they make NXT in a liquid like Zymol? I would be interested in trying that if they make it.
They make the NXT in a liquid. I've never tried the paste. The liquid is easy to use and works well on my black car. Just put it on thin over the whole car and wait about one-half hour to take it off.

If you guys are having problems with dust, you should really try the CCD.

Lots of folks over on Autopia are saying FK's #425 is pretty awesome at repelling dust too, and apparently it has a heck of a shine. I'm going to try some out as soon as my order comes in.

Yeah picus, I just got my optimum stuff and I already want to try that anti-static stuff!

Thanks BB06

The stocks were 18's... The Volks (I just got) are 19x9.5 in the front and 19x10.5 in the rear.

I just tried a zymol / Sonus combo. I hope the Sonus as a finisher will help to cut down on the dust. The shine came out pretty darn well also!

This is what mine looked like after Palmolive and air dry. I think I am going to try NXT Paste and see what happens. This is the before pic.

I have to agree with you 100% on this one. Look at my Grand Am GT paint job. Probably the same black paint they used on that Grand Prix of yours. My steps:

1. Dawn Soap for intial wash
2. Zymol cleaner wax (best cleaner wax ever IMO)
3. Meguires Carnuba Wax (I can't remember which one I used but it was Carnuba based)
4. Meguires Quick Detailer or Quick Wax after every wash

Let me tell you this thing shined deeper than even my brand new 2005 Nissan 350Z that I waxed 3 times. In the end, I posted pictures of my Grand Am GT on the N-Body boards and they were amazed that the results were better than a lot of the Zaino users on the board. Zaino is a great product, but for my cars (my last 4 cars were black!!!), there is nothing like a carnuba based wax for that deep gloss look and beading capability. I love hearing the streak while polishing!

Right now I have a used 2004 G35 Black Coupe that I can't seem to get as deep a color out of it as I want. I'm going to end up getting a new paint job on the whole car since my stepfather owns a custom paint shop. But for my first wax, what would you recommend on a brand new paint job?

Remember to wait 30 days if baked, and 90 if not after the paint for the solvents to burn off.

As for waxes, here are a couple to try if you like that deep/dark/carnauba glow look:

1) P21S/S100 (same thing, S100 is available at harley dealerships for less cash)
2) Clearkote Carnauba Wax
3) Finish Kare Pink Wax
4) Meguairs #26
5) Souveran (it's pricey, but man does it look good on black)
6) Nattys Blue. Less depth, but tons of wetness. It's a personal favorite.

Cheers.

MY Liquid Platinum with Zaino ONLY THREE COAST OF ZFX...

I really didn't realize how long it takes to wash and polish a car. I took me 4 hours just to get to the polishing phase and I didnt have enough time to put more than one coat of ZFX on the ride. I had to wait until the next day in which I put another two coats on. I think it looks bad ***, really wet looking. Black on the other hand is in a different category when it looks wet . Although, you need to maintain it 10x times more often, it shows EVERTYHING. I am happy I got LP, not too many LPs on the road in my area. I can't wait until I get some tint tint...Oh by the way, Any suggestions on keeping the windows spot free????
I used the Ultimate Zaino Kit, although the tire gloss bottle they include is garbage. Everything else is niceeeeeeee. ZFX with the z2 and z6 is nice, you just neeed to put atleast 3 coats on

OK since this thread has gone pretty much everywhere, I'll just ask my question in here.

To the detail pros:
I have an IP coupe, I like NXT. What should I, or should I be using before, and or after NXT?
Last detail I used a Megs swirl cleaner, then polish, then threw on some NXT for the first time...

Im no detailing pro, so I could use some insight and how to.

Oh BTW, I loved the way the IP looked after the last detail!!!
