Clear Bra Questions....

Hey guys where is the cheapest place to have the clear bra installed in the southern california area? How does the clear bra look after a few washes and should I wait a few weeks before installing it on my new G, so I can let the paint cure some more? My main goal is to prevent the G from rock chips.....Holla back!!

Keep in mind that price is a relative term when it comes to skilled labor. Its not like going across town to get the same TV for less money at a different store, the cheaper installer could be a great deal or the worst money you ever spent. That being said, the guys at Envisage Design Labs in Torrance have installed for many members of this board and are quite reasonable, get a hold of them at 866-335-3456 and tell them Jeremy from Invisiguard sent you, they'll answer all your questions=)

Re: Clear Bra Questions....

Mot,

I had my Black G done at Envisiage Design Labs. They did a great job. I had the full hood, front bumper, side front fenders and mirrors done. The hood was custom, so bumped up the price. As for the look, well it is not that noticable. When people look a the car they can see something is different, but it is hard to tell there is a clear bra on there until you get up close. I have taken a couple of long trips since the install and it has definately saved my skin (well the cars anyway).

As far a s maintenance, you treat the clear bra like the rest of the paint on the car; wash it, dry it, wax it.

I waited a couple of weeks before getting mine installed, mainly due to scheduling the full hood install.

Call up the guys, and talk to them. Before I had my bra installed, I went around and visited their shop. Great guys. Tell them Michael sent you over.

Re: Clear Bra Questions....

I had mine done there as well...during a group buy. It costed $518.00 or something like that. They did a good job. And just last Thursday, it saved my bumper from a BIG paint chip. I was driving at 80mph on 101 in Santa Barbara when a large square piece of board came flying off the truck ahead of me. It hit the bumper just under the headlight. It left a small pea sized tear on the film. No paint damage. A good investment in my opinion

Re: Clear Bra Questions....

Don't bash on me. But when I see a car with a clear bra, i just scratch my head. What im comfused about is why don't they apply the clearbra on the whole hood and not just half of it. Otherwise it doesn't look to appealing to me.

Re: Clear Bra Questions....

Probably because covering the whole hood is not necessary. Only way something will hit the top of your hood is if something were to directly fall on it from overhead.

People cover the whole bumper mainly for looks, but it isnt needed or recommended. I agree that partially covering the hood doesnt look too appealing, but you really cant tell the difference from far away.

Re: Clear Bra Questions....

Unfortunately, I have chips near the top of my hood on my sedan, but I know the clear bra has saved my front end, big-time.
Go to EDL - you won't be sorry. They can also do the entire hood, and other custom pieces, if you want them.

If DaN_the_MaN doesn't have any pictures, you can check out mine in the Rides section. I got my Twilight Blue/Willow Coupe last Friday. I am having the clear bra installed this coming Friday. I've taken about a dozen photos after the initial Zaino treatment last weekend and will take some more after the clear bra is installed.

Re: Clear Bra Questions....

I got mine done $610 out the door from Envisage Design Labs, covers 1/3 of the hood, 1/4 of the front fender, 1/2 mirrors, full headlights, full bumper.
I like it, works very well... But I wish I'd got it done right when I purchased the G35, cuz I got couple of smalll chips already...

I'll post some pix later...

Re: Clear Bra Questions....

I mainly got the whole hood done so I did not have the line half way up the hood. However the rock that chipped my windshield bounced off the hood from a passing gravel truck on the 605, so go figure!!.
