how to wax?????

how to wax?????

well guys just pick up my 06 dg coupe on fri. and its time to wash and wax it...how do you guys suggest to wax it in circular motion or side to side????

I wax in a back and forth direction inline with the car.

Autopia.org is where to start. however, you will want to look for specific things. Look for information on the 2 bucket wash method, grit guards, and lambswool mits. That will get you through the wash. Look for info on waffle weave drying towels to get it dry.

As far as waxing goes, assuming you don't need to polish first, waxing is pretty easy once you pick the applicator that works best for you. I like microfiber pads for most liquid waxes and sealants and foam for the pastes. Most products make a suggestion as to what you should use.

I agree with the previous posts, you want to avoid circular motions.

i heard this is the way to go...wash, dry, wax...trunk, hood, and top of car front to back...and doors, back, and front of the car go up and down is this true????

I am not sure I understood your question, but if you are talking about washing order, yes. Start high (where there is thought to be less grime) and work down. Also, be sure to use a seperate set of buckets for the wheels, tires, and any other heavily grime-ladden areas. Try not to apply much pressure to your wash mit also. This will help to reduce the liklihood of scratches.
