Not one word about CG Wash

I've heard a lot about Crystal Guard Quick, but not a word about the wash. Is it worth using before putting on the CG quick?

Re: Not one word about CG Wash

nope, the wash is mainly for the PRO app

You can wash your car with regular carwash soap+water

I like to follow that up with a minor CG Quick app, where i use about half as much as i normally would and takes 10 minutes to do
A little goes a long way w/ CG

The wash is pro app, Rambo's got it.

I CG'ed a friend's beat up Mazda Navajo the other day... looks nice! I'm also eternally grateful that I can put it on my newly-painted bumper Just did it two days ago, and since then a lady has approached me at a gas station asking where she could get my car, and a 745iL has come up next to me and given me an extremely enthusiastic thumbs-up. Must be the CG.

Re: Not one word about CG Wash

I recommend you to use CG wash. The reason is that most of car soap contains some kind of oil or detergent that could possibly create oil or wax layer over the body to make it look good. However, that layer also kills advantage of CG layer. I use CG wash myself and when I don't have it, I use mild neutral soap detergent mixing with water by 1:50 or so. That way, you can clean surface and remove any dirt from surface.
FYI

Re: Not one word about CG Wash

Definately use the wash

I use a pump sprayer to put a mild osap mix on the real dirty areas then rinse good. Spray on CG Wash then wipe with micro fiber towel (very imp) then rinse and dry

Tried to wash car without it and it was shiny but the wash makes it look even better

Have a healthy day!

Re: Not one word about CG Wash

Guys, Tako is the CG professional and has done many, many professional and Quick apps. So i think we should take his word for it.

But there is just something uneasy (uncomfortable) to me about cleaning the car with a spray and MF towel...

Re: Not one word about CG Wash

What I had thought about doing was to wash the car with regular car wash soap (like Meguire's) first, then CG wash it. That way the CG wash should wash away any residue from the first soap. The instructional video in the CG website says the wash fills in fine scratches. Have you guys witnessed that?

Re: Not one word about CG Wash

It's pretty simple. Hose water first and spray CGW. Then gently move microfiber and wipe surface hosing water. That way you use only small amount of CGW and you can remove most of dirt easily.
