A couple of things

Got a couple questions and comments, so I figured I'd post in one thread.

First of all, how wide are the 19's? I know the fronts are 7.5, but I can't remember what the rears are.

Second, put on the plenum spacer on Sunday... didn't test drive then, but got to have a little fun this morning and man is that thing fun.

Third, what's another good bang for the buck performance mod that's not a ton of labor (don't feel like going to the extreme with this car). I'm thinking y-pipe, but does it really do anything? Cat back would of course have to follow, but i'm afraid to lose the beautiful sound of the car.

I can't think of anything else at the moment, so let's just go with these.

coupe or sedan? revup, non-revup?

the coupe 19's are 8" in front and 8.5" in the rear.

y-pipe = louder, but not much performance (same with exhaust). there aren't many N/A improvements you can do that will make a big difference besides the plenum spacer and MREV2 if you have a revup.

Coupe 6MT
Here's some info from Stillen's 2007 catalog "Stage Chart"

Stage___HP Gain_____Mod
1________5-8_______Intake
2_______14-18______Exhaust
3_________11_______Headers (off-road use only)
4_________10_______Pulleys
5_________2-4______Grounding Wires
6__________8_______Aluminum Flywheel
7_________6-8______High Flow cats (ORUO)
8_________9-10_____Race Pipes (ORUO)

Does this help? No. But it's fun to look at for some reason!

You've got the Z tube already, right? I would remove any further silencing elements from the intake path for that sweet sound, that is a free mod, then look into exhaust. The right Y-pipe can do wonderous things, but a lighter, higher-flowing system can do more, eh?

i'd definitely recommend a front strut bar, sway bars, and a mild drop.

Cool

Did you buy just the spacer or the full MREV (manfold and spacer)?

I would either go Fast Intention's RESONATED TEST PIPES or INTIMIDATOR EXHAUST (suppose to sound like stock but throatier).

Just the spacer... was looking at the MREV... what's the deal on that? Just polished manifold? And correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like with the Rev Up motors I should use a spacer AND MREV at the same time...?

I like the idea of an exhaust that has the same sound... got any links for the intimidator exhaust. sounds kinda corny of a name

REV-UP (298/293HP) motor uses a manifold with short runners, redlines at 7100RPM
NON-REV-UP (280/275HP) use a manifold with longer runners, redlines at 6600RPM
The MREV2 is a NON-REV-UP manifold machined for even better performance. You can alsmost double your spacer gains with a MREV2 on a REV-UP motor.
Also you could just buy a NON-REV-UP manifold and make similar gains.

Here are some vendors selling the exhaust

Awesome... thanks for the info!

So the MREV2 is a polished version of the NON-REV-UP manifold? Guess not a whole hell of a lot of benefit to the non-rev-up motors?

Thanks for the link on the exhaust... i'm really likin the look of that exhaust... haven't had the chance to hear/see any of the vids on it to see if i like the sound

definitely get the MREV2. i'm still not sure what the difference is, but there are a lot of threads where hydrazine (motordyne products) has explained it.

Here are some pics for ya
Old rev-up lower plenum:

MREV2, not sure if you can tell the difference by pics:

I put the non revup lower collector on my revup motor with the spacer and it was great. the original MREV (no number) was a plain non-revup lower collector. I also recently picked up some nismo headers and I feel some extra oomph between 3500-5000 RPM. YMMV on that one since some have said gains and losses at different power ranges make gains nominal.
