Radar Talk

Hey guys

Lets talk about radars, since this is a Dallas based forum, I would love to hear what works for everyone here.

I just got a V1 for my G.

I was wondering if anyone here knows what setting to use? I have it set on Auto, but that seems to give me a lot of false settings, what do yall use??

So here is what I have learned:

1. Addison Police looks like they use KA
2. Highway patrol on GBT is also using KA

Can anyone tell me what they are noticing, it would be nice to know where the Laser's are at.

Thanks in advance!!

Also V1 owners, please let me know what setting you are using!!

I am going to try that in the morning, it has been annoying for it go off every few minutes.

I also love the fact that i can run down the road without the beeping every minute or two.

With the Escort 9500i, I don't have the false alarm/sensitivity issues.

I used the L setting as well and didn't run into many issues with it and I even have a old firmware. The reason I say "used" is because I don't use my V1 much these days. Though I still drive aggressively, I'm fairly observant.

Honestly, if I'd get off my lazy rear and make the invisi-cord, I'd have my V1 back in my cars in a heart beat.

I really want to put one on too, I am being lazy i figured I would try this out for a month and then replace the cord once I am sure that I want to keep this in there full time.

Rather than use an invisicord I just cut apart the wire that came with my V1 and soldered it in to the homelink wiring. It is very clean and I think looks better than the invisicord and is a much more solid connection. (yes I will post pics once my camera is fixed)

I run mine in the L setting as well and it has saved me about 3 times already and I have only had it for a week.

It was money well spent.

I sill have yet to be hit by any laser so I would not know where they set up at. I do know that they are all over bush between 35 and 183.

Laser

Almost makes you wonder who is still using K or Ka, maybe someone is, I always hope that Laser will hit someone else and bounce, maybe that is wishful thinking.

Laser isn't is common as you might think. Most cities have laser, but the problem is that the cop has to be stationary and very precisely point and shoot, unlike the normal K & KA guns.

I just got back from a quick trip down DNT to GBT (from Addison to Carrollton) avg'ed 90 the whole way, a ricer civic was trying to play around and block me in around a few cars.

Long story short, I passed him, he tailed me until I saw KA ... slowed down and the ricer got a ticket.

Good for him.
