I was talking to Chris from Cobb Plano about my next mod and he mentioned HFC and I was doing a little searching and found the link below. Looks like a decent deal but I don't know if I can believe the hp gains they are getting any one have these? Thanks for the help guys, the mod bug has bitten hard I just want to be smart about it as in I want my car to be reliable, fast, and daily driven. Thanks again Kirk

I personally would not buy that Kinetix plenum. I would invest in a decent set of cats and a plenum spacer. It will run a tad more, but you will get better parts.

I have the motordyne 5/16 spacer and jwt pop and z tube and full 3in meagan cat back exhaust including the y pipe. I agree with you about the HFC being better but I guess what do I do after that I am getting the Cobb AP tonight it's hard to know what next here is a pic of GiGi?

I think you are pretty much good. Just pick up a set of FI or Berk cats. Kintetix, Stillen, and AAM are all OK too.... Your car looks good (I have a thing for PG sedans....), but I would add a factory front lip and clear corners at some point....

Thanks my wife pick the color I would have picked black but I am now glad I didn't because DG has really grown on me. Also agreed on the clear corners are a must I am unsure about the front lip because so many people have cracked and broken theirs I guess if your careful it would fine.

Update Cobb couldn't program my car last Thursday do to the fact there are so many different ecu's for my year 06 they hadn't program one like my before. So we are going to try again on this Thursday. The good thing is I ordered the HFC's and if they arrive on Wedsday I can get them installed for the tune. I sure hope installing these HFC's won't be to bad. Keep you posted. Kirk

Good luck. Sux that nissan went and put a bunch of different ECU's within a single year. But I can definitely vouch for Cobb's technical department to figure something out. Thanks for keeping up updated!

I picked an AccessPort up today, and installed it without issue (well, Cobb did). I did have a check engine light on (error code 1024), but I cleared it off with the AccessPort and all is well so far....

I did not get it dyno tuned yet. I will be bringing it back next week to do so. As far as driving impressions, well my car is mostly stock. It feels better and more responsive, but I don't think there is much of a gain on the stock 91 octane map.... I will provide a full review once tuned, and when I have had a chance to drive it a little more.

yes, the Nissan ECU is very intelligent in learning the car and the driver to a point.

One story Chris shared with me was an NA G that was tuned and they got 12 out of it. He drove it around for a few weeks (maybe a month) and came back for round two and they got like another 10 out of it. Crazy stuff.

Well I am with out my car until Tues. at least I already miss her well just wanted to share my sadness hehe.

I went and got the AP today and saw a G sedan sitting on the dyno. Was that yours? They tried to do the install but the AP was recognizing my ECU as an AWD Sedan????? Neal said that someone (previous owner or dealership) did an ECU upgrade dump and changed it over to that by mistake????? Idiots!!! I wonder what that was doing to my car? They sent the ECU code off to their software guy Joe and he fixed the problem. Chris said that it may take alittle bit for me to feel the effects because of our smart a$$ ECU's. My car feels more responsive and seems to drive better. It maybe the Placebo effect though. I'm waiting for my Z-tube to come in before I go get the tune. Neal and Chris were very helpful and the shop is the nicest I've seen. A+ so far. That Z-tube can't come fast enough.

Update:

Well Cobb Plano was able to get it tuned and Stone that was my car lol. Well I can't really say it felt that much faster but I know the rev limter has been changed crazy to see it go up to 7K. I dyno'd 238WHP and 213WTQ base line with intake/spacer/hfc/ypipe and full 3 in back. Then they did the off the shelf map and it did 238whp and 219WTQ. Then they tuned and I got 245WHP and 221WTQ Air fuel was 14.5 all the way though mostly. Not bad I guess I was hoping for more with all my mods but I like that the AP does all the real time data logging that will be great for track days. Post up the dyno sheet when I get it scaned.
