Thanks Kirk.
I doubt they will give me any money back. I do wish that they would have done something for me other than say sorry. I hope it gets fixed and they learn from the situation. Taking one for the team for sure OMG37!!! I feel like I don't even have a car anymore. Hahaha!!!

Though you are definitely going through some challenges and it's not very much fun and they aren't the best about callbacks, they still seem to be providing a high level of service. Enough to take your ECU out and ship it to have it specifically researched.

Be glad you don't have an 03 G where the ECU was completely random and one off for every single car....

Thanks BOB.
Yeah I'm glad I don't have an 03. Chris was telling me about them. As I told them the last time I talked with them that they have been nothing but nice and that I'm just upset that this is happening. He understood and was sympathetic about my situation. He insured me that it would be taken care of and I trust that it will be. Thanks again.

So I got my car back on Sat. It has been flashed back to stock for now. Their software guy is working on the firmware update and they should call me to let me know that it's ready to be downloaded by Weds. Thurs. of this week. Once that is done the A/P should recognize my car as what it is and be good to go for the Tune. I really can't wait to have my car in good working order as it is still very lean as the ECU is stock now. I'm driving in the slow lane which I never do and I'm babying her like a shot pony.

Wow so your just now back to stock man your car must be one of a kind. I sure hope they are going to make it up to you some how like free dyno runs for a year or something. Your stock ecu should be fine I don't think you should be running lean the stock ecu is safe to a fault, did they tell you a reason you were running lean? Good luck and thanks for the update.

I was told that the intake was the reason it was so lean. I also put the spacer on but the guy didn't think it would have anything to do with it. The software guy flashed it back to stock from the stage 1 map that was on it before. Here's how it went. First, installing the A/P first day - recognized my ECU as a Sedan (MT) AWD. Got the software guy to write a patch so that it would recognize my car for what it was. Put the stage 1 map on. Second, came in for the tune - Neil did a software update on the A/P (A normal procedure) in doing so it wiped the patch that was created and again the A/P thought my car was something it wasn't. Their guy had my car on the dyno and did a WOT run to about 5k and the AFR didn't change at all. Running lean. Third, taking out the ECU to send to their software guy Joe - they took out the ECU and sent it to their guy to have him look at it. He found out what it was and just flashed it back to stock so I could drive my car and then fix the problem with a firmware update. Funny while I was writing this Neil called and said that the update was ready and the A/P should be fine now. I'm headed over there after work to see if it does. Their Dyno is down right now something to do with the motherboard so the Tune is going to have to wait again. I'll reply with the details tonight. By the way Kirk, your car had the Pop/Z-tube installed. What did they say about your car? Lean at all?

They did not say anything about me being lean. I am looking at the dyno sheet and it says avg was about 12.5. The max was 14.5 but that was under 3k rpms. Check this link out it helped me, according to that link I am not lean at all I still don't understand why you would be so lean.

12.5 is pretty good. That's right around your optimal range, but all depends on your configuration.

When we did a big dyno meet a while back, many of the G's that were tested were all over the place with their AF ratios.

Thanks for the link Kirk. Yeah when COBB did a dyno run to 5k it stayed around 14 ish the entire time he said. Not good. I went up to COBB yesterday and the A/P worked like it should. Now just waiting for them to call me when their dyno is fixed so I can get the tune.

In Naturally Aspirated engines powered by octane, maximum power is frequently reached at AFRs ranging from 12.5 - 13.3:1 or λ of 0.85 - 0.901.

This is from the link.

So you said it's ok now so did they change anything or was it your car relearning your mods and compensating?

No the A/P is recognizing my car the right way and they just loaded the stage 1 map. I'm sure it is still lean because nothing has changed. I just need the tune and I'm set.

Glad to hear it, I am sure the tuning part will go smooth the hard part is cracking the code that is your ecu . Can you check your oil temp in the ap and see if yours works cause mine doesn't and I am going to the track and it would be nice if it did. Neil said that an update would fix it but haven't heard anything. Thanks Kirk

Okay so I got my Tune done yesterday during the storm.
The A/F is perfect now. When I dyno'd it for the first time I had exhaust, pop with Z-tube and put down 233whp and 225tq. This was before I put the plenum spacer on. When I got the tune the final product was 235whp and 225tq. Granted this was on two different dynos but still. With everything I have put on the car I was hoping for better numbers. All in all I'm just glad my car is running perfect. The curves are smooth and I picked up about 10whp on the topend and lost about 5tq on the low end. I haven't been able to test it out fully seeing that is was raining on the way home from COBB but I pushed it when no one was around me on the hwy and it did feel faster/stronger. Thanks to Calvin for the tune and staying after hours to get it done. I'm going to take it to the track again to see if anything has changed.
The fastest I've going in the 1/8 is 9.72 @74mph. (Kennedale) I ran a stock 2008 Mustang GT (CS) and beat him by a nose.

Hey Kirk, Sorry I haven't tried out the Oil temp for you yet. I will though.
Thanks!

What kind of dyno was your original on? In general, I would never compare 2 different dynos. Also, the Mustang dyno (like what Cobb uses) reads a lot lower than most other types.
